The TEP is an organisation run entirely by volunteers. Since 2013, our volunteers have conducted field research, coordinated infrastructure projects and provided professional training to local educators in eastern Uganda. We offer a variety of volunteering opportunities both in the UK and Uganda, and welcome candidates from a diverse range of professional backgrounds.
In the UK, we are always searching for individuals with professional expertise and experience in the charitable sector, including in such fields as accounting and finance, campaigns and fundraising, policy, law and media.
Our field operations in Uganda require volunteers with a range of different professional and personal skills and qualifications:
Qualified Primary Teachers:
As a qualified primary teacher you could apply for a fieldwork role as an Instructor on one of our projects to provide continued professional development (CPD) training to local primary educators in eastern Uganda. These placements involve at least 2-3 weeks working in the field and generally take place between the months of June - August. You can discover more about our professional training projects via the CPD Programme page.
Working as a TEP volunteer in eastern Uganda is a unique and rewarding experience. Fieldwork can be at times highly demanding and involve working in remote environments with little external support. We are looking for committed, resourceful and exceptionally driven individuals, able to live and work with a high degree of independence.
